Scrappy Spring!

Over the past four days this has formed up on the design wall.....

It began with two blocks lying around....one small nine-patch block hand-pieced many many years ago by my then young daughter....

and this stray log cabin just lying about.....it all ended up to be 56" x 63".

Other pieces lying about from the most recent tops found their way in and then the large scale border fabric joined it all together. There are fabrics from secondhand used clothing in here....fabrics from clothes I sewed for myself and my daughters more than a dozen years ago....mixed with my stash.

It feels good to get more of my scraps into a completed top!

    1. I love that fabric and had just enough. I think I will bind it with the plum solid.

  5. Truly a scrap quilt and your choice of border fabric makes the fabrics glow. Makes me think of rushing to my 'parts' box to sort through all the goodies inside, but too busy at the moment so I'll save that pleasure for another day. Oh, what size is the quilt?

  8. Your quilts are wonderful. My very favorite quilts are those made from scraps . . . they are like being wrapped in Joseph's coat of many colors. Beautiful, warm, delightful and so interesting and happy :)

  10. A light and colorful harbinger of spring. Extending the coins into the border makes an extra lovely touch. Great use of memorable scraps and leftovers.
