As I have quite a few scraps in my blue scrap bin, my quilt will be made from them. I love a blue and white quilt (with a few scraps of red thrown in of course) I also like Sujata's suggestion of using the squares as background (white or off white) so that will be a possibility for my quilt.
I'm going to start out by making a couple of different sized blocks and see where that takes me, I will need to draw out a bit of a pattern so I don't get lost along the way.

Great idea; basically a 2-colour quilt but you have such a variety of blue fabrics it is sure to be sophisticated scrappy! .
ReplyDeleteI think it will be a nice quilt to make, I'm hoping that I can just grab bits for the side rectangles and not overthink it.
DeleteI’m in the pondering stage. Have an idea for many colored centers. I’ve pulled out baskets of scraps...two actually are laundry shaped wicker ones. This is not No. 1 on the To Do list but percolating and waiting patiently.
ReplyDeleteMany coloured centers sound great, the best part of this QAL is there are no rules or deadlines.
DeleteYou do have a good selection of blues in this photo Pip and like yourself I'm playing with block size.
ReplyDeleteI thought if I make the block size larger then my progress will be faster :)
DeleteBlue is one color I never bought. Now whenever I go to a fabric shop, my eyes always land on blue. Looks like I have been missing out! I am with Christine.. At a pondering stage. I have busy schedule until midweek, next week. Oh but so ready! Good idea to play with block size or ultimate size of the quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt was a no-brainer really, I love blue and I've learnt it is better to use fabrics that you love rather than ones that make you feel ho-hum.
DeleteIt will be nice to have the control of the blue in the quilt. Looking forward to seeing your progress!
ReplyDeleteSo far I am enjoying using the blues, hope to post some progress soon :)
